(not saying this is the case, but it is theoretically possible) The system is running at full processor speed. The first thing to understand is that the on the mechanism used to make the system capable of running asynchronous (ie: if they just add wait states, then increasing the memory speed won't do squat).

I found a solution to address the speed issue I encountered on my Xscale based PPC, or at least to make a 400 Mhz devise play as fast as a 206 Mhz Strongarm one. System Information-processor and processor speed
The processor front side bus speed is automatically selected to support the internal processor speed of the processor installed in your system. If the system will be used in a mission critical application (ie data integrity is critical), the system should be shut down and SPD 100MHz memory installed prior to

WAS Re: Quicksilver CPU in Digital Audios?
Processor speed most definitely has an impact on effects and CG. Back in the stone ages when we we only had an Amiga2000 with a stock 68000, transitions and As long as the hardware programming is accessible, clever programming can find all sorts of new effects to use. This isn't just a Toaster issue, of course.

Seven: Empty your internet cache if you use IE 4.0 or 5.0. Clear your history. Check under dos not windows, that every thing is removed. Eight: Get Regclean and run it. (impossible to give a better time without knowing the speed of your hard drive and processor...so use that as a rule of thumb.

By the same token, you won't get everything out of a faster connection unless you have a faster box (RAM + processor speed). Can it run at full processor speed. After all, there wouldn't be much use in having a cache that runs as slow as main memory, would there :^) I don't want to write a cache tutorial I do not think that it's a really good rule of thumb IMO, ie I do NOT believe that it is a linear function of the associativity.

Sure, benchmarks can see the difference, but when you're running Windows 95 with several large programs open (such as Outlook, IE 3, Netscape 3, & a Virus Scanner), more RAM will make much more difference than will 5% processor speed. For example, the above combo uses about 45 megabytes of RAM.

The problem doesn't attend on a modern 1.6 GHz Athlon Computer, surely the high processor speed overlaps the effect... OS theoretical problem.
Quite true, and you also have to be careful with CPUID -- though most people don't realize it, at least for some CPUs, it's documented that the first couple of times you execute CPUID, its execution speed can vary. Intel's recommendation is to only use it for serialization on at least your third consecutive
